Soft Brake Pedal or ABS Light — What It Usually Is
Braking that feels wrong — a soft or pulsing pedal, a pull, an ABS warning — is a different complaint family from brake noise, and its fixes reach beyond pads into hydraulics and sensors.

part involved, so shares overlap and don't add up to 100%. Among visits that ended in a parts repair.

ABS light on
Most ABS lights are a wheel-speed sensor or its wiring — the sensors live in the wheel's grit and rust zone. The brakes still work conventionally with the light on, but the anti-lock function is off until fixed.
Soft or sinking pedal
A pedal that travels farther than it used to, or sinks under steady pressure, is hydraulic: air in the lines, a leak, or a failing master cylinder. This one is a safety-now item.
Vibration when braking
A steering-wheel shimmy only while braking is warped front rotors in most cases — resolved by the rotor-and-pad work that dominates brake outcomes.
