Serpentine Belt Replacement Cost
What owners actually paid
The shaded middle is where half of all these repairs landed: $125 – $301. The price on any one car depends on the vehicle — the table below shows the range for each.
What this repair is
One belt drives your alternator, power steering, water pump, and A/C. When it glazes or cracks it squeals — especially on cold starts — and if it snaps, everything it drives stops at once. It is inexpensive insurance and often replaced together with its tensioner.

What moves the price
- Belt alone or with tensioner — a squeal that returns after a new belt is usually the tensioner.
- Access — some transverse engines need a wheel or splash shield off.
Quotes near the low end usually mean belt only on an accessible engine. Quotes near the high end usually mean belt plus tensioner, tight transverse layouts, a second belt on engines that use two.
