Blinking fast on one side
Hyper-flashing is the circuit noticing a dead bulb and is the cheapest outcome in this family. On vehicles with LED signals, a failed unit produces the same symptom but costs more to put right.
No signals at all
When neither side blinks, the bulbs are innocent — the flasher relay or the column switch is the usual finding. A switch that also controls wipers or high beams can make the repair look pricier than the symptom suggested.
Works, but only sometimes
Signals that cut out with a warm cabin or work when the stalk is held just so are the classic worn-switch story — mention the pattern to the shop and you'll save diagnostic time.
