Tire Pressure Light On — What It Usually Means
The tire-pressure light means low pressure or a sensor problem. Cold snaps trip it honestly; slow leaks and dead sensor batteries make up the rest.

part involved, so shares overlap and don't add up to 100%. Among visits that ended in a parts repair.

Light in cold weather
Pressure drops about 1 psi per 10°F — the first cold morning of fall lights up dashboards everywhere. Topping up to the door-jamb spec usually ends it.
One tire keeps dropping
A tire that needs air weekly has a slow leak — usually a nail or a corroding wheel bead. Patchable punctures are cheap; catching them early keeps them patchable.
Flashing light
A TPMS light that flashes at startup is reporting a sensor fault, not pressure. Sensor batteries die at 7–10 years, often one after another — the fix is the sensor, replaced at tire service time.
