A/C Condenser Replacement Cost
What owners actually paid
The shaded middle is where half of all these repairs landed: $509 – $944. The price on any one car depends on the vehicle — the table below shows the range for each.
What this repair is
The condenser is the radiator-like panel at the front of the car that sheds the heat your A/C collects. Road debris punctures it and age corrodes it — either way the refrigerant escapes and cooling fades or dies. Replacement includes evacuating the system, the new condenser with a fresh drier, and a full recharge with leak verification.

What moves the price
- Front-end access — many newer vehicles need the bumper cover off to reach the condenser.
- Refrigerant type — R-1234yf systems charge at several times the R-134a price.
- Collateral damage — road debris that killed the condenser often nicked lines or the radiator too.
Quotes near the low end usually mean aftermarket condenser with the drier reused, charge only topped off. Quotes near the high end usually mean bumper cover removal on newer models, R-1234yf refrigerant, damaged lines replaced at the same time.
